Key Responsibilities- Database Administration: 8 years of experience in database administration as a Snowflake DBA, with a strong understanding of database security, roles, and permissions.
- Backup and Restore: Experience with Snowflake backups and restores, both manually and using Snowflake and other tools.
- Performance Tuning: Analyze production workloads and develop strategies to run Snowflake databases with scale and efficiency.
- Capacity Planning: Experience in Snowflake performance tuning, capacity planning, handling cloud spend, and utilization.
- Database Recovery: Lead cross-regional data replication and be an expert at database recovery features.
- Cloud Expertise: Strong expertise in Azure, specifically in compute, storage, security, and services.
- Scripting and SQL: Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Unix shell scripting and SQL.
- Monitoring and Growth: Monitor health, tuning, and growth of cloud databases.
- User Access: Manage and monitor user access to databases.
- Data and Batch Loading: Experience with data and batch loading processes.
- Data Modelling and Design: Strong data modelling and database design skills.
- Capacity Planning and Disaster Recovery: Experience with disk space capacity planning, machine sizing, disaster recovery.
- Tuning Warehouses: Strong knowledge on tuning warehouses.
- Optimization Techniques: Knowledge and experience in working with Snowflake DB, proficiency with optimization techniques.
- Software Development Life Cycle: Thorough understanding of software development life cycle.
- Enterprise Database Environment: Experience administering a large enterprise database environment, proficiency in design, administration, implementation, upgrades, monitoring, and database.
