Job Summary

We are seeking an Embedded Software Application Engineer to join our R&D team in Schaeffler EMobility. The successful candidate will work on the electrification of powertrains for current projects and collaborate with the System Engineering team and customers to develop application software for next-generation electrified systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software requirements with customers and align software needs with core teams in the Schaeffler software department.
  • Participate in simulation, programming, calibration, and testing using hardware test benches or HIL systems.
  • Support product validation activities, internal reviews such as peer review and quality scrutiny.
  • Contribute to meeting with customers, design proposals for new business opportunities, and customer on-site support requiring national and international travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Automotive Engineering.
  • Masters' Degree in electronics, electrical, mechanical, computer engineering, or physics is a plus.
  • Advanced English language skills, including TOEFL min. Score of ITP 585 / iBT 84, CEFR level B2-C1 (or equivalent).

Technical Requirements

  • Advanced engineering, physics knowledge, mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 3 - 7 years of experience in embedded software development in the automotive environment.
  • Strong knowledge of C/C++ language for microcontrollers or SOCs (Infineon).
  • Proficient with Matlab/Simulink in an Autocode environment.
  • Good understanding of Classic AutoSAR, SW Architectures, and interfaces.
  • Knowledge or working experience with cross compilers and toolchains.
  • Experience in Automotive embedded Software Development (V Model, Agile).
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written & verbal).
  • Ability to interact with individuals and departments across different Business Units.
