Analyst - Sustainable Fitch, Latin American Team

Sustainable Fitch is actively looking for an Analyst to be part of its Latin American division.

As a segment of Fitch Group, Sustainable Fitch specializes in ESG research, providing ESG Ratings and Scores to issuers and their sustainable debt instruments worldwide. Our offerings are developed from offices across Europe, Asia, North America, and South America.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate issuers and their bonds, propose ESG Ratings and Scores, draft ESG assessment reports, and contribute to written research commentary.
  • Provide timely, focused written analysis, supported by well-structured arguments based on verified factual data.
  • Stay informed about ESG trends in Latin America, including regulatory and sector-specific developments.
  • Understand and apply Sustainable Fitch's rating and scoring methodologies, becoming familiar with the company's approach to assessing sustainability impacts across various business activities.
  • Present findings to issuers and investors effectively.
  • Collaborate with colleagues globally to leverage knowledge, gain international experience, and foster productive working relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus.
  • Insight into the socioeconomic characteristics and financial markets of Latin America.
  • A broad interest in business, finance, and economics.
  • A degree in a technical discipline related to environmental science, social risk, governance, economics, business, or finance.
  • Familiarity with and enthusiasm for ESG concepts and issues.
  • Basic financial literacy and strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting and drawing conclusions from data.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated individual who can demonstrate initiative and effectively manage and prioritize tasks.

Preferred Attributes:

  • A passion for ESG and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, with the ability to utilize proprietary models and internal analytical tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Trilingual proficiency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese is advantageous.
