Sustainable Finance Analyst - Latin America

Fitch Ratings is looking for a Sustainable Finance Analyst to enhance its Latin American division, based in Sao Paulo.

As part of Fitch Group, the Sustainable Finance team specializes in ESG research, providing ESG Ratings and Scores to issuers and their sustainable debt instruments globally. Our services are delivered from various offices across Europe, Asia, North and South America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate issuers and their bonds, propose ESG Ratings and Scores, draft ESG assessment reports, and contribute to written research commentary.
  • Deliver precise, focused written analyses supported by well-structured arguments and verified factual data.
  • Stay informed about ESG trends in Latin America, including regulatory and sector-specific developments.
  • Understand and apply Fitch's rating and scoring methodologies while familiarizing with the company's approach to assessing sustainability impacts across various business activities.
  • Present findings to stakeholders and investors.
  • Collaborate with global colleagues to share knowledge, gain international experience, and foster strong working relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English, with fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
  • Awareness of Latin America's socioeconomic landscape and financial markets.
  • Broad interest in business, finance, and economics.
  • Degree in a technical field related to environmental science, social risk, governance, economics, business, or finance.
  • Familiarity with ESG concepts and topics.
  • Basic financial literacy and strong analytical skills for data interpretation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of managing time effectively and prioritizing tasks.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, with the ability to utilize proprietary models and analytical tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Trilingual proficiency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
