Certified Nursing Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Heritage Care Home. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including toileting, ambulation, eating, transferring, bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Provide personal care tasks as identified in resident care plans and any treatments ordered by the physician.
• Assist residents with using, emptying, and cleaning resident equipment, such as urinals, bedside commodes, bed pans, wash basins, showers, and chairs.
• Assure residents receive their snacks and assist them at mealtime as needed.
• Notify the Resident Care Coordinator or Supervisor-in-charge when there is a need for medical attention or any other change in resident status.
• Report any accidents or incidents to the Supervisor-in-charge.
• Help maintain the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each resident.
• Work cooperatively with all other staff and relate favorably to residents, their families, and visitors.
• Be familiar with the confidentiality of resident information and adhere to requirements.
• Be familiar with the Residents' Bill of Rights and assist residents in exercising their rights.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation as required in resident services, such as progress notes, incidents, changes in condition, appearance, and behavior of residents.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must hold an active State-approved certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the state.
• Must have a satisfactory criminal background record.
• Must be free of tuberculosis disease that poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others, as documented by the 2-step method or chest x-ray if allergic to serum.
• Eight (8) hours of supervised work under a Registered Nurse each year.

The employee is required frequently to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to communicable diseases and Bloodborne pathogens. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
