About the Role

Control Risks is seeking a highly skilled Editor to join our team in Mexico City. As an Editor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of written materials for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with research teams to manage due diligence work conducted under the VANTAGE programme, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of reports.
  • Content Development: Edit, format, and provide critical feedback on VANTAGE reports, adapting content where necessary for methodological consistency.
  • Quality Assurance: Referencing SharePoint and Knowledge Management channels, ensure that reports are written in a current standard or current client-specific template.
  • Risk Assessment: Compare risk ratings and report level scope across jurisdictions within each programme to ensure consistency and comparability across reports.
  • Content Review: Liaise with research teams to ensure that all online content is regularly reviewed and kept up to date, keeping records of progress using SharePoint tracking systems.
  • Product Development: Contribute to the development of the VANTAGE product, assessing ways of improving readability for online output and reports, including through the use of graphics.
  • Document Editing: Edit and proof other types of documents (e.g. marketing material) for grammar, clarity, and style as required.
Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience working on multiple editorial projects simultaneously.
  • Education: Degree or background in English Literature preferable.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to keep clear lines of communication on deliverables.
  • Time Management: Ability to work under pressure in a fast-turnaround environment.
  • Research Skills: Knowledge of research techniques, databases, and archives, and the general internet.
  • Language Skills: Native or equivalent fluency in English and excellent written skills.
  • Editorial Skills: Demonstrated excellence in proofreading and copy editing to house style.
  • Technical Skills: MS Office proficiency and ability in the use of editorial software.
