About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Platform Hardware Engineering Division at Intel. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing novel thermo-mechanical solutions for the next generation of high-end microprocessors and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical devices, systems, equipment, and packaging, incorporating design for manufacture, design for serviceability, and design for sustainability considerations.
  • Develop system concepts from scratch, create product and test specifications based on requirements, drive system integration, development, procurement, acceptance, and deployment to high volume manufacturing.
  • Define and conduct feasibility studies, develop and implement test plans and parameters for new and existing mechanical designs, including functionality validation, reliability, and safety.
  • Apply deep materials knowledge and mechanical expertise to select right materials, components, and manufacturing technologies for the system.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to incorporate manufacturing feedback, produce the designs, and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Conduct design reviews and perform system acceptance tests, working with customers, drive structural and stress analysis of key mechanical components, prototypes testing, initiate design improvement, and resolve design and implementation issues.
  • Execute tolerance analysis from component level to board and system level.
Requirements
  • 3D modeling and demonstrated proficiency in mechanical design.
  • Advanced English level.
  • Experience using Pro/E Creo, SolidWorks, or other parametric CAD.
  • Experience with engineering design and analysis tools.
  • Experience with mechanical hardware development life cycle.
  • Modeling, Assembly, Detailing, Sheet Metal, Mechanical experience.
  • FMEA and risk matrix tools experience.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Knowledge of PDM tools such as Windchill.
  • Knowledge and experience in component and platform/systems.
  • Design of Experiments (DoE).
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including CNC, sheet metal, 3D Printing, and injection molding.
