**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our Digital Platform Engineering group at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for enhancing platform software features and building new features on cloud/desktop applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement software features and applications using Java/J2EE technologies and micro-services architecture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of software features.
- Develop and maintain high-quality code, following industry best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in agile development methodologies, including daily standups, story grooming, sprint planning, and sprint reviews.
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation and knowledge base.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our software development processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in software development, with a strong understanding of object-oriented principles, design patterns, and data structures.
- Experience with Restful APIs, micro-services architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
- Proficiency in software development in Linux environments and containerization using Docker.
- Familiarity with different operating systems (Windows and MacOS).
- Experience with desktop applications using Angular and Electron frameworks is a plus.
