Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our team at Reser's Fine Foods, Inc. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our purchasing department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter replenishment orders for brokered items and create purchase orders for outside vendors as needed.
  • Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages.
  • Review requisition orders to verify accuracy and specifications.
  • Answer phone questions with prompt follow-up and prepare and maintain purchasing files.
  • Ensure regular attendance and punctuality to meet the demands of working with people, items, and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Purchasing experience is preferred, but not required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Basic PC skills are required, including proficiency in 10-key data entry.
  • Knowledge of business planning and control systems is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Repetitive hand, wrist, and finger activities.
