POSITION SUMMARY

  • In collaboration with designated internal customer groups, the VOS Manager is tasked with the effective planning, development, and implementation of ongoing enhancement initiatives within the Vertiv Operating System (VOS). This role involves overseeing all continuous improvement projects and standardizing business-as-usual (BAU) processes across relevant functional departments. The individual will actively engage with assigned customer groups to capture, replicate, and internalize best practices.
  • The VOS Manager will partner with the Plant Manager and their leadership teams to shape site strategies, formulate plans, and execute performance enhancement initiatives. Additionally, this role will focus on advancing the Lean capabilities of both management and staff, fostering sustainable models that promote daily problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • This individual should be prepared to lead and mentor leaders in integrating operations and functions comprehensively while driving improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs). They will also be responsible for developing the continuous improvement team's capabilities and leading the enhancement of Vertiv's operational standards, processes, and methodologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of Continuous Improvement (VOS) Coordinators and their support teams.
  • Ensure compliance with the VOS methodology and framework, ensuring that employees adhere to VOS guidelines.
  • Accountable for the management and execution of VOS-related policies and procedures.
  • Make decisions that directly influence functional operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Engage frequently with subordinates, customers, and peers at various management levels, facilitating information exchange and basic problem resolution.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead change initiatives and drive process excellence.
  • Lead facility communications, education, and training related to VOS.
  • Conduct functional analyses, including baseline assessments of core business processes and financial evaluations, ensuring continuous measurement and improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Regional VOS leader to formulate and implement VOS strategies.
  • Act as a key resource for the assigned function leader.
  • Work alongside the assigned function leader to establish appropriate improvement targets and monitor progress towards these goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience of 5 or more years.
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in applying production system methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Six Sigma/Lean certifications are preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both the local language and English.
  • Ability to coach, teach, and guide leaders in developing continuous improvement strategies, influencing decision-making, and driving initiatives within plant operations and functions.
  • Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in statistical modeling techniques, root cause analysis, and other tools typically used to drive operational enhancements.
  • Capability to influence and lead within a matrix organization to ensure accountability and execution of the VOS mindset and activities.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience of 5 or more years.
  • Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Six Sigma/Lean certifications are preferred.

TRAVEL TIME REQUIRED

  • 25% travel may be required.
