POSITION SUMMARY

  • In collaboration with designated internal customer groups, the VOS Manager is tasked with the effective planning, development, and implementation of ongoing enhancement initiatives within the Vertiv Operating System (VOS). This role entails overseeing all continuous improvement projects and standardizing business-as-usual (BAU) processes across assigned functional areas. The individual will actively engage with the designated customer groups to capture, replicate, and internalize best practices.
  • The VOS Manager will partner with the Plant Manager and their leadership teams to define site strategies, formulate plans, and execute performance enhancement initiatives. Additionally, this role will focus on advancing the Lean capabilities of both management and staff, fostering sustainable models for daily problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Utilizing embedded functional resources, the VOS Manager will leverage expertise to lead and mentor leaders in integrating operations and functions comprehensively while driving improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs). This individual will also develop the skills of the continuous improvement team and spearhead the enhancement of Vertiv's operational standards, processes, and methodologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and coordinate the daily functions of Continuous Improvement (VOS) Coordinators and their support teams.
  • Ensure compliance with the VOS methodology and framework, guaranteeing that employees operate within established VOS guidelines.
  • Accountable for the administration and execution of VOS-related policies and procedures.
  • Make decisions that directly impact functional operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Engage frequently with subordinates, customers, and peers across various management levels.
  • Facilitate information exchange and basic problem resolution through interactions.
  • Lead change initiatives and drive process excellence within the organization.
  • Responsible for facility VOS communications, education, and training programs.
  • Conduct functional analyses, including baseline assessments of core business processes and financial evaluations, alongside continuous measurement and improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Regional VOS leader to develop and implement VOS strategies.
  • Act as a key resource for the assigned function leader.
  • Work alongside the assigned function leader to establish appropriate improvement targets and track progress toward these goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of practical experience applying production system methodologies and mindsets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Six Sigma/Lean certifications are advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both the local language and English.
  • Ability to coach, teach, and guide leaders in developing continuous improvement strategies, influencing decision-making, and driving initiatives within plant operations and functions.
  • Robust analytical skills, including proficiency in statistical modeling techniques, root cause analysis, and other tools typically used to enhance operational performance.
  • Capability to influence and lead within a matrix organization to ensure accountability and execution of the VOS mindset and activities.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Six Sigma/Lean certifications are advantageous.

  • 25% travel may be required.
