Editorial Grants Correction Specialist

Program Overview:

The For the Protection of Human Rights Defenders and Journalists (PDP) program, a USAID initiative, aims to enhance the capacity of governmental and non-governmental actors in protecting human rights defenders and journalists. This program seeks to create a safer civic space for the exercise of freedom of expression and the defense of rights.

Job Summary:

The Editorial Grants Correction Consultant will provide style correction services to donor organizations, ensuring the clarity and accuracy of editorial materials and texts. This role requires maintaining effective communication with the contract management department and adopting an intersectional approach in consultancy work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and correct writing, spelling, style, clarity, and language usage in documents and materials developed by donor organizations, ensuring sensitivity to inclusive language and an intersectional approach.
• Submit evidence and documents as requested.
• Provide personalized follow-up on consultancy tasks and attend in-person or virtual meetings convened by PDP for consultancy development.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in communication, literature, linguistics, or a related field is required.
• Minimum two years of experience in style correction of texts is required.
• Experience in freedom of expression, human rights, and social advocacy issues is preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish is required.
