Job Overview

At TE Connectivity, we are seeking a highly skilled High-Speed Cable Assembly Engineer to join our Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams. This role will significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods, and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering teams to drive operational strategy and develop the organization in support of business strategy.
  • Play a pivotal role in LEANPD driven new product development projects, ensuring strong impact and adherence to Lean principles throughout the process.
  • Lead high-level process development for cutting, stamping, molding, cable assembly, or other TE manufacturing processes, ensuring optimal performance for quality and output.
  • Support Product Development by optimizing designs and piece parts for manufacturability, and by realizing sample tooling, product samples, and prototypes.
  • Design, develop, and qualify tooling and manual/automate processes for high-speed products to meet TE quality and production standards.
  • Initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost, and cycle time, aligning with TEOA requirements and Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP's).
  • Identify and mitigate risks in manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Requirements
  • Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering Degree and +5 years of experience in this role or similar working with high-speed cable assembly.
  • Commitment to driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to work on issues of diverse scope and provide input on key issues impacting the function.
  • Ability to adapt and make significant departures from traditional approaches to enhance quality or value.
  • Experience in interacting with senior management, with the ability to change thinking and gain acceptance from others.
  • Ability to establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage change.
  • Experience with applicable systems (SAP, TLM, CAD etc.) and familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Strong understanding of industry document specifications like US-CAR & IPC620.
  • Strong understanding of cable making technology, stamping and plating technology, HSG molding technology, metal and plastic raw material characteristics.
