About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our team at SSOE, Inc. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural systems for a variety of commercial projects, including hospitality, healthcare centers, corporate buildings, airports, restaurants, and malls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of routine engineering assignments under the direction of a supervisor with increasing responsibility based on performance.
  • Consult with supervisor to screen assignments for unusual or difficult problems and select appropriate methods and techniques to apply.
  • Receive close supervision on new aspects of assignment but have some freedom to exercise judgment in making engineering decisions.
  • Work under the direction of a supervisor on specific and limited portions of a broader assignment that requires some supervision.
  • Draft interpretation of own design into completed working drawings and apply engineering fundamentals to design.
  • May be assisted by a designer, but usually assume no responsibility for direction of others.
  • Perform routine calculations and work on PC system.
  • Communicate with supervisor concerning progress or problems in an assigned task.
  • Update department REVIT standards.
  • Knowledge of US Codes: ASCE7, IBC, ACI 318, AISC 360.
  • Masonry & Wood experience.
  • Post-tensioned concrete.
  • Seismic Design Category D / High seismic design experience / basic knowledge.
Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering as Civil Engineer and Master Degree in Structural design or Sciences (This is not a must, just desirable).
  • Five to seven or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s).
  • Advanced English level.
  • Experience with REVIT and Structural Engineering.
  • Experience with Commercial projects such as Hospitality, Healthcare Centers, Corporate Buildings, Airports, Restaurants, Malls, etc.
