The Product Security division comprises a dynamic group of innovators who excel in collaborative security initiatives. The primary objective of the Software Security (DevSecOps) team is to facilitate self-service security. This team is committed to fostering the three principles of DevOps: Fast Flow, Rapid Feedback, and Continuous Learning. As our organization undergoes digital transformation, the DevSecOps team plays a crucial role in advocating and implementing DevOps methodologies throughout the company. We aim to enhance existing processes, eliminate bottlenecks, and encourage safe experimentation whenever feasible.

Role Overview:

We are in search of a highly proficient Software Security Engineer to become a vital member of our Product Security team. The ideal candidate will be tasked with safeguarding the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices across the organization, from initial design through to deployment.

Daily Responsibilities:

As a Software Security Engineer, you will collaborate with product development teams across the organization, serving as a subject matter expert to provide guidance on secure software development methodologies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with development teams to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities in our software and systems.
  • Implementing and maintaining security tools and protocols to ensure the integrity of our software development lifecycle.
  • Conducting security evaluations and code reviews to detect vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to security standards and best practices.
  • Working with cross-functional teams to guarantee the timely and successful delivery of secure software solutions.
  • Advocating for and implementing Secure SDLC practices aligned with compliance requirements.
  • Creating solutions to automate processes and workflows.
  • Developing and promoting automated scanning tools and methodologies throughout the organization.
  • Identifying and leading process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Establishing performance metrics and reporting from consolidated sources to assist Software Security Management in prioritizing remediation efforts.
  • Contributing to the strategic direction and long-term vision of the team.

Essential Qualifications:

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science is preferred (equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered).

Experience:

We seek candidates with a minimum of 3 years of experience in software development with a focus on security, including:

  • Proficiency in writing and/or testing software applications; experience with automation is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of container technologies and cloud service providers such as AWS.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++, Java, .NET, JavaScript, Python, Bash, PowerShell, and/or Ruby.
  • Experience with development tools such as Eclipse, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ, Git, Jira, Jenkins, and/or Docker.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills with diverse groups.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

In addition to the experience requirements, we are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Self-motivation and an agile mindset.
  • A proven track record in conducting application security assessments, whether through Bug Bounty programs or capture-the-flag events.
  • Experience in mobile application security is advantageous.
  • Active involvement in general information security practices and/or community engagement.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication in English.
