The Role

We're looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you'll be responsible for achieving team performance goals for production. This includes efficiency, DPU, hours accuracy, scrap, time lost accuracy, DHR accuracy, inventory metrics, and people metrics such as turnover.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Hire, train, develop, and motivate production personnel to follow procedures, meet high-quality standards, production schedules, productivity requirements, and recognition.
  2. Update and revise Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI) to ensure that MPIs are accurate and complete.
  3. Address line support issues as they arise, including technical-related issues.
  4. Work closely with all support departments to resolve production issues and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  5. Document, report, and escalate any variances, problems, issues, or concerns.
  6. Provide clear expectations to production personnel and provide performance feedback quarterly and on stan-ups.
  7. Write and conduct formal annual performance reviews for production personnel and execute Monthly One-on-one Feedback.
  8. Plan, supervise, drive improvement, and report production performance including output, yields, root cause failures, efficiencies, and trends.
  9. Understand, train personnel, and enforce strict adherence to the applicable DOPs and SOPs of the Quality System, as well as the Manufacturing Guidelines.
  10. Assist in setting and attaining quarterly and annual production goals, Business unit strategy, VSM, HK Goals deployment.
  11. Learn and enforce company safety policies and practices and develop safety project initiatives, line risk assessment, 8Ds plan, Turnover line plan, and Layer Audits.
  12. Lead or support various Lean Manufacturing initiatives that involve a Mfg. based team through Corporate Projects, Project Management, Kaizen, Green Belts, or Rapid problem-solving events.
  13. Support sub-assembly or process outsourcing initiatives.
  14. Generate/Review/approve ECOs to determine impact on manufacturing.
  15. Review and disposition discrepant material. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences. Implement project to improve Material Usage / reduce Scrap.
  16. Evaluate designs for manufacturability (with respect to tooling and assembly methods). Provide suggested change proposals, or tooling concepts during the early design process phase. (All line improvements)
  17. Drive our Culture Strategy by fostering our mission, founding principles, individual and leadership expectations. Create EX-Survey Action plan.
  18. Work closely with corporate engineering on production line transfer or improvements.
  19. Support corporate Quality improvement CAPA implementations and lead QA Improvements.
  20. Assist engineering with the Final Manufacturing Review (FMR).
  21. Assist budget spending preprocess and execution.
  22. Ensure completion of all associate's ISU training under his/her supervision including Techs, Change Overs, and Production Leads.
  23. Complete Payroll activities for his/her reports.
  24. Execute production plan.
  25. Support process validations.

Requirements

We're looking for a Production Supervisor with a Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years of experience in supervisor and/or engineering roles. Experience in the medical device industry is preferred, specifically in high-volume manufacturing areas. Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, DFT, and 6 Sigma is required. Proficient in the use of personal computers to perform daily work, familiar with the Microsoft Office suite of programs and MRP systems. SAP and Agile experience is preferred. Superb communication skills, including written and verbal instruction, are essential. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Basic knowledge or experience in Packaging, PLC, Thermoforming, Robots is a plus.
