About the Role

Cash is a widely accepted payment method globally, despite the rise of digital payments. As a key payment solution for unbanked and underbanked individuals, cash operations require special attention. Our team is responsible for ensuring a healthy cash payment ecosystem and optimizing processes to provide the best value for users.

We are seeking a Cash Operations Manager to join our Global Payment Operations team. This role will involve creating and implementing a strategy for cash payments, focusing on collections methods and enhancing the cash user experience across all lines of business.

This is a critical role that requires a customer-centric approach, prioritizing user engagement and profitability. The ideal candidate will possess stakeholder management, strategic thinking, problem-solving, quantitative analysis, and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.

The scope of this role is international, covering LATAM, India, and Africa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build a strategy to make cash payments a sustainable and frictionless payment method at Uber.
  • Leverage data to identify pain points and design initiatives to be executed in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and enhance reporting tools to track key results and produce ad-hoc analysis on specific topics related to cash payments.
  • Design and implement processes to ensure a frictionless operation of cash payments, collaborating with regional and local teams on diverse initiatives.
  • Map existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and propose new solutions, experimenting, iterating, and implementing them.
  • Product Improvement: Identify recurrent pain points and consolidate information to build a business case for product improvements.
  • Take ownership of cash payment operations, supporting and enhancing the quality of the operation and the value offered to users.
Requirements
  • English Proficiency.
  • Stakeholder management to communicate strategies to senior leaders within multiple teams.
  • Strong business acumen within the Payments and e-commerce environment.
  • Problem-solving skills, using logic, common sense, and data to tackle issues impacting people, processes, and infrastructures.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and strategize with a clear action plan to solve complex problems involving business data.
  • Experience with quantitative data analysis and storytelling, translating data insights into business intelligence with a course of action.
  • 5-7+ years of work experience in strategy, operations, analytics, business development, or a variety of other specialty roles with demonstrated ability in quantitative fields.
  • Ability to take initiative in a constantly changing work environment, maintaining flexibility and a collaborative attitude, and driving analysis and conclusions.
  • Experienced communication skills to clearly explain and justify decision-making to high leadership and partners.
  • Experience creating and optimizing processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience with SQL and/or Python.
