Job Title: Corporate Counsel

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Counsel to join our team at Lapieza. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a crucial role in supporting our business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel to members of HR, Finance, IT, Services, Product, and Marketing teams on various legal matters, such as employment law, intellectual property, compliance, corporate governance, subsidiary management, M&A, data privacy, and dispute resolution.
• Work closely with the General Counsel, Associate General Counsel, Senior Corporate Counsel, and other legal team members to support the commercial needs of the company's fast-growing global operations.
• Collaborate with senior legal team members to develop a strong working knowledge of the business by building positive relationships with relevant business teams.
• Review and prepare complex commercial agreements, including SaaS/software, professional services, consulting, licensing, and vendor agreements.
• Assist legal team leaders in implementing and maintaining processes that align with business strategy.

Requirements:

• Advanced/Fluid English
• Be a citizen/native of Costa Rica or have valid work permits
• Experience working with global teams in a multinational business, including addressing cross-border legal issues
• Proven ability to understand and clearly communicate complex legal matters to business teams and external parties
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to develop collaborative and successful relationships with the sales organization
• Excellent writing, negotiation, and drafting skills
• Solid understanding of data privacy, security, and IP issues relevant to SaaS/software providers
• Knowledge in one or more other substantive areas: employment law, corporate governance/subsidiary management, compliance, M&A, etc.
