Job Title: Lead Material Artist

Job Summary:

Infinity Ward, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Lead Material Artist to join our team. As a Lead Material Artist, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation of high-quality materials and textures that bring our environments to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Level Artists, Leads, and Directors to create photorealistic environmental materials that meet the quality standards and tone of the Call of Duty franchise.
  • Develop and maintain a team of Material Artists, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality materials and textures.
  • Work closely with the Tools, Engine, and Tech Art counterparts to develop new workflows or improve existing tools and technologies to streamline team efficiency.
  • Help drive the planning and pre-production efforts of each assigned environment.
  • Responsible for the management and mentorship of all Artists on their team.
  • Provide feedback to both internal and external artists regarding quality and technical execution.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of industry experience creating high-quality world materials.
  • At least one shipped AAA title, from beginning to finished product.
  • Expert understanding of Physically Based Rendering (PBR) workflow.
  • Strong foundational Art skills, including composition, form, color, and light in relation to world materials.
  • Advanced skill in software such as Substance Designer, Substance Painter, Adobe Photoshop, and ZBrush.
  • Strong knowledge of 3D modeling software, such as Maya or Max.
  • Familiarity with modern level editor workflows, such as UE4 or Unity.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and able to self-manage and meet deadlines.
