About the Role

The Senior Operations Manager is a senior management level position responsible for overseeing the management of a team or department in an effort to provide operations support services in coordination with the Operations - Core team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of operations support services in alignment with Citigroup operations support infrastructure and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Management: Manage professional teams and departments through delegation of tasks and responsibilities, ensuring effective leadership and guidance.
  2. Performance Evaluations: Conduct performance evaluations, compensations, hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations of team members, while maintaining appropriate staffing requirements.
  3. Quality and Efficiency: Monitor the team's quality and efficiency of end results and manage all training and development needs of assigned personnel.
  4. Budget and Policy Formation: Create and develop budget, policy formation, and short-term resource planning to ensure the team's success.
  5. Complex Issue Management: Manage occasionally complex and varied issues with significant departmental impact, applying in-depth knowledge of how areas integrate within the sub function.
  6. Evaluative Judgment: Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of information in complicated and unique situations, ensuring essential procedures are followed.
  7. Autonomy and Independence: Operate with a limited level of direct supervision, exercising independence of judgement and autonomy.
  8. Subject Matter Expertise: Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members, providing guidance and support.
  9. Team Management: Manage teams effectively, assessing risk when business decisions are made and demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets.
Qualifications and Requirements
  1. Experience: 6-10 years of experience with background in Financial Services Industry (Commercial Banking related experience is an advantage).
  2. Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of the Client Onboarding processes, working knowledge of Commercial Liability Account Opening, Maintenance & Anti Money Laundering (AML) Requirements, Systematics, Filenet, Citi Know Your Client (KYC), Workforce Management (WFM) and Commercial Liability Products.
  3. Skills: Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements, proven organization and time management skills, and consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Education: Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience, Master's degree preferred.
