Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating manufacturing processes for harnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes for harnesses, ensuring high-quality and efficiency
  • Contribute to the buildup of new production cells and generate technical information for production processes
  • Maintain and improve existing manufacturing methods, supporting Johnson Controls' capacity expansion plans
  • Implement and maintain a safe work environment, promoting a culture of accident prevention and investigation
  • Lead by example and facilitate A3 problem-solving, designing future state value streams
  • Create technical documentation, including standard work sheets, OMS, ODS, FMEA, and DFAM
  • Support the advancement of the organization in JCM and share best practices through internal and external benchmarking activities
  • Evaluate and modify production line layouts and production cells, leading and updating databases as needed
  • Work with multidisciplinary groups to implement Lean Manufacturing and reduce high-risk priority numbers in manufacturing PFMEA's
  • Drive process-related activities for New Product Introduction, from early planning stages to full production
  • Coach, mentor, and train Manufacturing Technicians within the Manufacturing team
Requirements
  • Industrial, Mechatronic, or Mechanic Engineering Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in harness manufacturing processes
  • 3+ years of experience with cable and wire machines and tools, including cut, strip, and terminate, crimp, terminals punching, wire marking, testers
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Spoken and written English, with the ability to carry on a conversation without difficulty
  • Strong knowledge of elements of continuous improvement, line balancing, capacity calculations, planning, and layout
  • Project management experience and a proven record of successful change management accomplishments
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to plan and prioritize work effectively
