Materials Planner Job Description

At Johnson Electric Group, we're seeking a skilled Materials Planner to join our team. As a key member of our supply chain team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of materials to support our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine material quantities to order and schedule delivery dates.
  • Enter release data into our ERP system and release orders to suppliers.
  • Monitor and communicate any issues with material delivery that may impact our production schedule.
  • Track shipments from suppliers and monitor delivery performance.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure compliance with established limits.
  • Cycle count inventory as per management instruction.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in materials planning or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills; background/experience in statistics is a plus.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Understanding of how manufacturing systems work, including how material is stored, used, reported, and scrapped.
