Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Engineer to join our team at North American Production Sharing. As a key member of our automation team, you will be responsible for executing automation projects, ensuring maintenance and compliance with applicable procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise automation activities for the site, executing automation projects, and ensuring maintenance and compliance with applicable procedures.
  • Review and maintain systems, identifying improvements in design and incorporating best practices.
  • Test program operation to verify it remains functional and communicate with clients to address their concerns and troubleshoot and identify solutions to problems.

Requirements

  • Team spirit, initiative, autonomy, flexibility, and creativity.
  • Root cause analysis/problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with project management methods and tools.
  • Job experience in process control using solutions such as defining equipment user interfaces, control logic, alarms, and interlocks.
  • Proportional-integral-derivative controller (PID) tuning, electronic batch recipes, multi-variable advanced process control.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming Logix.
  • Good computer skills, including office software tools, computer programming knowledge: Sequential Flow Charts and Function Block diagrams, SQL, Visual Basic, and Mathematical software packages.
  • Experience in equipment commissioning, qualification, as well as computerized system validation.
  • Experience with server-client networks, with or without virtualization.
  • Ability to determine customer needs to develop project specifications and scope.
  • Ability to interpret and implement specifications.
  • Knowledge and experience of automation and control technologies and systems, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), SCADA systems, and Vision Systems.
  • Software development skills, including knowledge of C/C++/C#, VB, SQL, and Java.
  • Strong mathematical abilities, as computer modeling and simulations are a core part of the role of a Control Systems Engineer.
  • Good communication skills, especially important as a Control Systems Engineer needs to be across all aspects of the project.
  • Knowledge of network services, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and more.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electronic or Automation.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in the field of automation and controls.
  • 2+ years of Project Management experience with automation projects.
  • Experience working in GMP environment.
  • US Visa (required).
