JOB SUMMARY:
The Supervisor of Planning is tasked with harmonizing supply and demand at the product mix level, focusing on the implementation of optimal practices. This role involves the creation, execution, and oversight of a comprehensive scheduling management system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acts as a primary liaison with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and logistics departments. Collaborates with these teams to develop schedules and plans that effectively allocate resources to meet customer demands. Analyzes demand based on product mix and provides precise lead times to the sales team. Possesses in-depth knowledge of Material Master, BOM, and the integration of Production Planning Processes. Assesses available capacity prior to the release of planned orders and engages in capacity management during sales and operations planning. Integrates sales orders with the master schedule, coordinating the availability of equipment and personnel to meet delivery timelines. Aids in determining capacity requirements during the annual operating plan. Works closely with Procurement and Make Part Planning teams to ensure suppliers and value streams are aligned with the correct revisions and builds. Participates in regular forecasting meetings with sales and related departments, leading additional planning discussions with sales, purchasing, production, and shipping. Maintains consistent communication with the BOM team, disseminating information and providing performance feedback to foster team member development. Identifies and spearheads continuous improvement initiatives. Conducts quarterly audits and reviews BOM to ensure adherence to Material Management Accounting System (MMAS) standards. Ensures that engineering documents are processed according to organizational guidelines and run rules. Utilizes knowledge of demand, material availability, capacity, and constraints to prioritize tasks and determine escalation needs.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. Proficiency in advanced English conversation is necessary. A minimum of 6 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, with 4-6 years specifically in planning and supply chain roles. Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and related systems is essential. Experience in planning, controlling, and directing activities related to scheduling and planning is required.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:
Strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities, able to synthesize complex data. Proficient in utilizing spreadsheet and ERP-type software for managing the planning process. Demonstrated organizational, project management, and leadership skills. Change agent with the ability to facilitate change and influence effectively. Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, capable of interacting with all management levels. Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access). Team-oriented, able to collaborate across business operations and build strong teams. Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.WORKING CONDITIONS:
Standard office environment; may require time spent on the manufacturing floor, including walking and standing as necessary. Some travel may be involved.
