Job Description:

The Manufacturing Process Engineer at Corning will work with other team members to solve difficult technical, engineering-related problems. This role supports or leads continuous improvement activities, new product or process introductions, and cost reduction projects. The Manufacturing Process Engineer will also support the development and execution of plans to evaluate new technology or improvements in existing technology, resulting in a superior product in terms of quality and/or cost.

Responsibilities:
  • Problem-Solving Support: Provides day-to-day problem-solving support to production, development, and research operations.
  • Training and Development: Trains operators and trades personnel on new equipment and processes.
  • Technical Understanding: Uses rigorous processes and technical knowledge to build detailed technical understanding for key process steps.
  • Team Leadership: Functions as a team member or team leader on focused projects.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoots material, process, and equipment issues, identifies root cause, and implements corrective action.
  • Process Improvement: Implements and documents material, process, and/or equipment changes.
  • Statistical Tools: Uses simple statistical tools and Designed Experiments (DOE) in process problem solving and process improvement.
  • Quality Assurance: Assures quality and repeatability of processes and products.
  • New Product Introductions: Supports new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation, and training.
  • Safety and Compliance: Assures safety of operators and equipment and complies with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge Development: Develops SME knowledge of material, process, and/or equipment in focused areas of manufacturing or engineering.
  • Cost Reduction: Executes cost reduction and improvement (DMAIC) projects in line with business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • Yellow Belt Training: Yellow Belt Training is required.
  • Results-Oriented: Track record of delivering results.
  • Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge in a technical field.
  • Project Experience: Project team membership is required.

Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including health and wellness programs, company-wide bonus and compensation packages, and professional development opportunities.
