About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Body-in-White Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and production release of Body-in-White systems and components.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and production release of Body-in-White systems and components.
- Support feasibility development through template application with Design Office Themes.
- Responsible for upper body components and assemblies through program CAD milestones.
- Responsible for system requirement sections and BIW part template application through the entire program.
- Maintain standard operating procedures for engineering.
- Quality improvements, weight reduction, cost reduction, and other efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Communicate technical product status to management.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.
- Five years of engineering experience.
- Design/development engineering experience in Body in White, closures, or exterior systems.
- CAD experience.
- Proficient in Google and MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
Preferred Experience
- One year of experience in NX and Teamcenter in a production release environment.
- Knowledgeable in the use of Unigraphics, NX, and Teamcenter.
- Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills, and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
- Knowledgeable in regards to high strength steels, welding, and GD&T.
- Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
- Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
- Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green Belt/Black Belt.
- Reactive Green/Black Belt.
- KBE experience desired.
