Amazon is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Supply Chain Manager to join our Global Direct Imports team. As an Instock Manager, you will be responsible for driving purchasing, inventory planning, and forecasting for multiple countries through Direct Import Supply Chains. Your expertise will be crucial in improving customer experience by collaborating with Retail, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.

This role requires a strong analytical mindset, with the ability to dive into complex data sets and identify scalable solutions. You will work closely with various teams across Amazon, including Operations, Global Logistics, Supply Chain Technology, Retail, and Finance, as well as external partners to support critical new business initiatives and drive continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical approach to getting things done. You will be able to operate both strategically and operationally, with a high degree of organization and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage availability and inventory health, including improved in-stock rates, inventory planning, vendor lead time, fill rate, unhealthy inventory, and forecast accuracy for import selection.
  2. Drive data-driven solutions to solve complex supply chain problems.
  3. Create and run buying/forecasting scenarios to enable better buying decisions.
  4. Develop automation programs for Imports on emerging countries, including system developments.
  5. Improve vendors' operational performance by acting as their internal consultant on forecasting/buying/operations domain.
  6. Establish and maintain relationships with senior leaders of partnered vendors to grow and optimize the joint import business.

Global Purchasing works with emerging countries to buy directly from origin and import. Our vision is to supply customers worldwide with the best selection and price. We are a growing business that is still inventing and innovating.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Mexico City, DIF, MEX

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with Excel.
  • 5+ years of supply chain, inventory management, or project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or certificate of completion of studies is required.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Advanced analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to dive in and quickly understand root cause and identify scalable solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the principles of statistical inventory control.
  • Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
  • Experience working with complex data sets and proficiency in SQL.
  • Excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and operationally.
  • High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple priorities and committed to getting things done.
  • Strong data extraction, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
