This contract/consultancy position requires excellent English language skills and typically works 9:00am-6:00pm Eastern, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary based on operational requirements.
About the Job:
The Corporate and Compliance Counsel will oversee all legal, compliance, regulatory, and operational matters excluding litigation and administrative tasks. This involves providing advice, guidance, and support on U.S. regulatory and compliance matters.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective U.S. compliance environment and protocol in line with current industry best practices and legal and regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinate internal and regulatory reporting in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
- Develop cost-effective compliance solutions.
- Manage residential mortgage lending licensing applications and oversee compliance with applicable licensing requirements.
- Prepare required residential mortgage loan closing documents and disclosures.
- Develop and maintain relevant policies and procedures.
- Communicate with outside counsel.
- Perform other projects and duties assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Law degree from a nationally accredited U.S. law school preferred.
- 5-10 years' experience in regulatory and compliance in residential mortgage banking throughout the U.S.
- Demonstrated experience with U.S. federal and state residential mortgage lending laws, rules, and regulations.
- Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal).
- Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills.
- Superior analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
We offer an estimated annual salary of $120,000 - $180,000 based on location and experience. Additional benefits include 11 paid holidays per year and a competitive compensation package.
