Clinical Project Managers play a vital role in the delivery of clinical trials, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and strategic leadership. As an integral part of the core project team, the Clinical Project Manager is responsible for ensuring project delivery meets contractual requirements, adhering to SOPs, policies, and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in bid defense presentations, working closely with Business Development to develop and deliver compelling proposals.
- Lead the delivery and management of smaller, less complex regional studies, leveraging expertise in clinical trial conduct and regulatory requirements.
- Develop integrated study management plans with the core project team, ensuring seamless execution and optimal resource allocation.
- Accountable for the execution of clinical studies, optimizing speed, quality, and cost while ensuring compliance with standard processes, policies, and procedures.
- Set objectives for the core project team and/or sub-team(s), effectively communicate and assess performance, and drive results.
- Collaborate with other functional groups within the company to support milestone achievement and manage study issues and obstacles.
- Monitor progress against contract and prepare/present project and/or sub-team information proactively to stakeholders internally and externally.
- Manage risk (positive and negative) and contingencies proactively, leading problem-solving and resolution efforts.
- Achieve project quality by identifying quality risks and issues, responding to issues raised by project team and/or sub-team members, and planning/implementing corrective and preventative action plans.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients, demonstrating strong customer service skills.
- Build and lead cross-functional project teams, responsible for managing cross-collaboration and overall project delivery to support milestone achievement and manage study issues and obstacles.
- Ensure the financial success of the project, forecasting opportunities to accelerate activities and bring revenue forward.
- Identify changes in scope and manage the change control process as necessary.
- Identify lessons learned and implement best practices, driving continuous improvement and excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences or a related field.
- 5 years of prior relevant experience, including > 1 year of project management experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of clinical trials, including clinical trial conduct and regulatory requirements (ICH GCP and relevant local laws, regulations, and guidelines).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a good command of the English language.
- Problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions and drive results.
- Leadership skills, with the ability to organize resources, set objectives, and provide clear direction to others.
- Prioritization skills, with the ability to handle conflicting priorities and manage multiple tasks.
- Quality skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work across geographies and display high awareness and understanding of cultural differences.
- Financial skills, with a good understanding of project financials, including experience managing contractual obligations and implications.
