About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Security Officer to join our team in Mexico. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading all safety and security efforts across our brands and operations in Mexico.

Job Description

The successful candidate will serve as the subject matter expert within Mexico for safety and security concerns, events, and incidents. They will provide proactive and pre-emptive actions to identify vulnerabilities and advise on appropriate mitigations. This includes onsite audits and assessments, training, and security consultations to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests, staff, and assets from various security risks and threats.

The role requires extensive collaboration with other stakeholders, including operations, HR, legal, engineering, communications, and security teams within Mexico and the greater LAC region and corporate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement security policies, standards, and management systems, identifying responsibilities, accountabilities, and development requirements across the assigned region.
  • Respond to SSM events as necessary and provide assistance, support, and direction to property leadership and SSM management teams.
  • Investigate security incidents involving actual or potential loss or exposure to the company.
  • Act as a liaison point for security and law enforcement agencies and coordinate with them on security incidents, threats, and investigations.
  • Collect, assess, and act on security intelligence from recognized sources.
  • Audit and review hotel security programs at individual hotels across all ownership models and brands within the assigned region.
  • Support functional training initiatives, including security awareness and other topics for GMs, security directors/managers, and officers.
  • Lead, direct, and/or conduct inquiries and investigations concerning criminal acts, workplace violence incidents, employee behavior, conduct, and malfeasance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Fifteen or more years of progressive work-related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple relevant disciplines/processes, including previous law enforcement, intelligence, or military experience.
  • Security or risk management information system knowledge is a plus.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English, verbal and written.
