Cybersecurity Specialist for Advanced Threat Detection

Echelon Risk + Cyber is a cutting-edge cybersecurity firm seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team. As an expert in advanced threat detection, you will play a crucial role in executing client assessments and audits, including penetration testing, adversarial emulation exercises, and social engineering tests. This position offers the opportunity to work with clients from various industries, sizes, and backgrounds, performing consultative services to identify and mitigate potential security risks. Your expertise will be invaluable in helping us deliver top-notch security solutions to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Execute security assessments and audits, including penetration testing, red teams, and social engineering exercises.
- Become an expert in identifying and exploiting security vulnerabilities, using resourceful thinking to stay ahead of automated tools.
- Contribute high-quality documentation on findings, observations, remediation steps, and mitigation recommendations in Word and PowerPoint reports.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in adversarial simulation and contribute innovative techniques to enhance internal processes and capabilities.
- Contribute to internal research projects and assist leadership with proposal creation, work planning, and business development efforts.
- Produce thought leadership content for the organization's website blog on a regular basis.
- Promote active involvement in the cybersecurity community.
Requirements:
- University degree in a relevant IT or cybersecurity field.
- Internship experience in a related field preferred (upcoming college graduates will be considered for part-time positions with full-time opportunities upon graduation).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in the technical space.
- Familiarity with Linux (Debian preferred) and Windows operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of programming/scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, C, C#, C++, Java, Perl).
- Effective communication style adapted to audience needs.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Superior analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Relevant Offensive Security Certification (eJPT, OSCP, etc.).
- Active engagement in Penetration Testing training environments.
