Job Title: EHS Technician

At Danfoss, we are seeking a highly skilled EHS Technician to join our team. As an EHS Technician, you will play a critical role in implementing and monitoring policies, rules, and corporate/legal compliance, as well as conducting EHS activities and initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the implementation and maintenance of operational controls for the handling of chemicals, waste disposal, and identification of potential environmental impacts.
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure personnel, equipment, and machinery are working safely and in accordance with operational controls. In the event of deviations, take immediate action and report to relevant areas.
  • Validate the inspection, maintenance, and operation of emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers, fire pumps, etc.).
  • Evaluate risks and controls before releasing work permits to contractors.
  • Participate in various EHS implementation, monitoring, and validation activities, such as LOTO, machinery safety, risk analysis, etc.
  • Identify and ensure that operational areas are complying with regulations (STPS, SSA, etc.), internal standards, operational controls, medical programs, and work environment conditions to prevent ergonomic injuries and occupational diseases.
  • Maintain and promote a culture of EHS in all operational areas, conducting inspections and providing feedback to personnel, conducting awareness campaigns, programs, etc.
  • Provide EHS training to all employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure they are aware of and comply with EHS rules and policies, aiming to prevent incidents, occupational diseases, and environmental impacts.
  • Report EHS incidents and ensure initial investigation, follow-up on closure of actions.
  • Maintain up-to-date electronic records of incidents and in operational areas.
  • Conduct regular and periodic EHS inspections/gembas in construction projects to ensure compliance with operational controls and applicable safety measures, in accordance with internal standards, work permits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide basic first aid in case of an incident or emergency, in accordance with company procedures.
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations, in accordance with internal procedures, to safeguard personnel and facilities.
  • Participate in the analysis of safety risks and environmental aspects.
  • Respond immediately to EHS incidents, conduct initial investigation, ensure the area, stop equipment/processes if required, define containment actions with operational, maintenance, and process areas; participate in the investigation of causes and follow-up on corrective/preventive actions.
  • Monitor the proper disposal of generated waste and verify controls in Scrap and PTAR or similar areas.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering/Chemistry or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint intermediate level).
  • Emergency Response Training (First Aid, Firefighting, Evacuation, Hazardous Materials).
  • Knowledge of Mexican Official Standards related to EHS (STPS) and OSHA for Construction.
  • Strong competencies, aligned EHS mindset, and customer-focused approach.
  • Experience conducting EHS audits, reporting results, and following up on corrective actions.
  • Formal training/knowledge of Emergency Response (First Aid, Firefighting, Evacuation, Hazardous Materials).
  • Proven experience in industry and/or construction sector, management of contractor crews 300+, and/or manufacturing industry (construction and/or expansion phase).
  • Experience managing contractors and releasing high-risk work permits.
