As a Senior Operations Manager at Amazon, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of our Last Mile operations. This involves leading a team of Process Assistants and Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) in daily management of the delivery station, including meetings, training sessions, assigning job duties, and communicating with DSPs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and operations management, with a proven track record of driving process improvements and increasing efficiency. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient yard operation, managing a team of over 280 associates, and addressing associate needs to ensure they can focus on their jobs.
This role requires a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays. You will be based at one of our operational sites, where you will spend a significant amount of time developing your team and collaborating on operational planning.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Excellence: Establish workflows, SLAs, and operational excellence mechanisms at the site to drive efficiency and productivity.
- Performance Metrics: Manage CX&Q performance metrics, including Safety, Driver, Productivity, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, and develop detailed plans for improvement based on the operating vision and current performance standards.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Participate in all leadership routines, including DBR, WBR, and MBR, and lead the implementation of new processes and improvements.
- Operational Planning: Conduct weekly operational planning, including manager's roster, labor model, volume delivery, IT and non-IT 4M, preventive maintenance, and breakdown review.
- Associate Management: Connect 1:1 with associates daily and address barriers, and coordinate with support functions for all change management/site improvement initiatives.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced logistics professional who can lead our Last Mile operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and operations management, with a proven track record of driving process improvements and increasing efficiency.
The minimum qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- 7+ years of general experience.
- Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
- 5+ years of employee and performance management experience.
The preferred qualifications for this role include:
- Solid understanding/background from Last mile operations is highly appreciated.
- Solid experience using and implementing Lean Manufacturing tools.
- MBA or related.
- Previous experience leading programs or projects End to End.
