About the Role

The Toro Company is seeking a highly skilled Director of Operations to oversee the manufacturing of products at our Juarez 1 and Juarez 2 sites. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient use of facilities and staff, while maintaining a healthy and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the recruitment, hiring, directing, and coaching of manufacturing site staff.
  • Ensure safety, quality, delivery, cost, and cash goals are met through effective management of resources.
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations, and handle employee discipline as needed.
  • Responsible for all plant operations, including the manufacture of products, ensuring safety, production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Review production reports to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals and standards are met.
  • Collaborate with environmental, health, and safety staff to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist the Regional Director with long-range operating goals, expansion efforts, and the implementation of new and advanced technology.
  • Drive the deployment of systems to meet Lean Principles and methodologies.
  • Identify and share training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills.
  • Organize departmental management structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations.
  • Work with the Finance manager to develop operating budgets.
  • Deliver progress and production reports to executive team members as requested.
  • Supervise equipment purchase, maintenance, and layout.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and managerial skills.
  • Experience with new plant startups.
  • In-depth experience in lean implementation.
  • Extensive supply chain management.
  • Strong experience in flow and materials management.
  • Thorough understanding of the policies and practices used in the manufacturing division.
  • Ability to set long-term goals and communicate them to others.
  • Ability to motivate and organize multiple efforts to accomplish goals.
