This position is part of IBM's Consulting team, where you will work in one of our Client Innovation Centers, delivering technical and industry expertise to clients worldwide. Our centers provide locally based skills and expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Your Key Responsibilities
As an Application Security Specialist, you will perform security assessments, code reviews, and SDLC security consulting in a customer environment. Your tasks will include:
- Executing Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), and Interactive Application Security Testing (IAST)
- Performing application threat modeling using STRIDE, Attack Trees, PASTA, or VAST
- Establishing DevSecOps and 'Secure by Design' processes
- Conducting application security risk assessments
- Creating gap analysis and client improvement program recommendations
Required Skills and Expertise
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Experience in cybersecurity, specializing in application security or secure development
- Knowledge of common application code review methods and standards
- Understanding of application development and coding in modern languages
- Knowledge of OWASP tools and methodologies
- Experience in standard Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices
- Experience in application security
- Background in IT and/or software development
- Certification in CISSP, CEH, and/or CSSLP is a plus
- Fluency in English
Preferred Skills and Expertise
Microsoft Azure and GCP certifications, as well as CSSLP, are highly valued.
