Job Summary:

Civil Project Engineer Sr. at CEMEX is responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and ensuring compliance with civil engineering guidelines, design criteria, specifications, and standards during project development and execution. This role involves active participation in project drafts, elaboration of preliminary and final scopes, classification and coordination of civil engineering concepts, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Participate in project development through preliminary execution of proposals for buildings, warehouses, and infrastructure projects.
  2. Develop and review project scopes, ensuring compliance with CEMEX design criteria and standards.
  3. Coordinate the application of civil engineering concepts, applying the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for project development and accounting.
  4. Elaborate documentation for the hiring of detailed engineering and services, based on specifications of the engineering department.
  5. Coordinate and supervise the making of detailed civil engineering, ensuring compliance with project schedules and correcting deviations.
  6. Verify compliance of norms, standards, and design specifications of designers and engineering buffets.
  7. Participate in the implementation and update of civil area specifications.
  8. Develop job concept catalogs for the bidding process and hiring for construction.
  9. Provide technical support to the construction department regarding construction situations.
  10. Assist in training and development courses to keep the performance of the function updated.
  11. Request necessary field information for project continuity and avoid interferences in installations.
  12. Request materials and civil services necessary for projects.
Position Challenges:
  1. Manage civil engineering guidelines, design criteria, specifications, and standards for project installation, coordinating with the team.
  2. Comment, approve, or reject civil engineering drawings and documents that do not comply with local mandatory codes and/or CEMEX design criteria and standards.
  3. Create, review, follow up, and compare technical comparative analysis for civil engineering and construction.
  4. Coordinate with multidisciplinary, multifunctional, and multicultural engineers and engineering companies during project development.
  5. Ensure compliance of all projects with CEMEX civil engineering design criteria, specifications, and standards.
  6. Participate in all stages of the project from engineering to start-up.
Qualifications:
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Spanish: 90% (native desirable)
    • English: 90%
  • Academic Background: Civil engineer
  • Areas of expertise:
    • Cement and Concrete: 5 years of experience in Civil Engineering and Projects.
    • 8 years of experience in Engineering Firms.
  • Technical Skills required by role: CAD, AutoCad general knowledge, Staad Pro, SAP, Robot
  • Others:
    • General knowledge of cement, ready-mix, and aggregate industry process.
    • General knowledge of engineering and projects process development.
    • General knowledge of cement process main and auxiliary equipment.
    • General Knowledge of sustainability trends, green construction, alternative fuels, CO2 emissions.
    • Leadership skills.
    • Willing to travel and relocate.
