Role Overview

The Operations Executive will oversee all operational facets within our Matamoros facilities, including Production, Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing/Process Engineering, Local Supply Chain, Customer Service, Inventory Management, and Facilities Maintenance.

In collaboration with senior leadership, you will establish performance objectives and long-term operational strategies. Your focus will be on maximizing efficiency and productivity through comprehensive process evaluations and cross-departmental cooperation. You will set strategic objectives aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume full accountability for the operations at the Matamoros site, encompassing Production, Continuous Improvement, Testing, Manufacturing/Process Engineering, Local Supply Chain, EHS, and Facilities.
  • Manage operational costs, labor expenses, and budgetary controls.
  • Promote lean methodologies across the operations team and the broader organization.
  • Achieve Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets.
  • Facilitate the planned advancement of critical operational areas.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and development initiatives for staff.
  • Communicate business updates and company matters to direct reports, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Ensure operational targets align with strategic objectives and plans.
  • Implement cost-effective capital expenditure initiatives.
  • Direct Health, Safety, and Environmental practices to guarantee compliance with current and forthcoming regulations.
  • Adhere to internal quality standards as per ISO and QMS requirements.
  • Develop and execute operational and staff development plans.
  • Enhance customer service levels within operational teams.
  • Optimize direct labor cost percentages and production/distribution expenses.
  • Pursue continuous improvement in processes and practices.
  • Authority and Responsibility:
  • Ensure that the production and packaging of medical devices meet established specifications and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred; Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • 12+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years in a Director of Operations role.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, new product introduction, and supply chain management.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficient in project management and new product introduction.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of ISO management systems (9001, 14001) and applicable Mexican regulations for medical device manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in people engagement and leadership development.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety requirements in a manufacturing context.
  • Ability to drive improvements in facilities and maintenance.
  • Experience managing multiple plants or production lines is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated capability in leading organizational change and transformation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Passion for fostering change and continuous improvement.
