Software Engineer in Test

At Socotra, Inc., we're committed to delivering exceptional transportation experiences. To achieve this, we're seeking a skilled Software Engineer in Test to drive our comprehensive automation strategy. This role will be instrumental in defining test implementation and increasing coverage.

This is a hands-on position that requires collaboration with product teams to understand testing needs, identify test scenarios, and design test automation. You'll create testing plans, both manual and automated, for new and existing products and features in line with product goals.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with product teams to understand testing needs and design test automation.
  • Create testing plans for new and existing products and features.
  • Improve our existing test automation frameworks and infrastructure.
  • Test complex API, web, and mobile-based applications.
  • Maintain existing UI and API tests and monitor failures.
  • Build and maintain systems to monitor test stability and report stability issues.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of industry experience as an SDET, developer, or strong Automation Engineer.
  • Strong object-oriented programming experience.
  • Proficiency in Java/Kotlin or Swift for mobile platforms.
  • Familiarity with Espresso/XCUItest is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Java/Python for API test (integration test).
  • Solid experience in building automation frameworks and writing reliable, scalable, and reusable automated tests.
  • Solid experience with design patterns.
  • Experience working on mobile platforms and troubleshooting the testing ecosystem.
  • Strong experience in developing and documenting test plans, test cases, and reporting bugs.
  • Track record of improving efficiency through automation.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule if an established Socotra, Inc. location is available in the Mexico City region. Hybrid team members will work in the office 3 days a week and have flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
