Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products and services, and for leading supplier quality engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation to ensure understanding of electrical/mechanical parts and products.
  • Lead supplier quality engineering early preventive activities, including drawings requirements, risk assessment and mitigation, supplier audits and qualification activities, control plan development, inspection plan, and first article review.
  • Analytical and problem-solving competency to drive performance results and improve quality.
  • Use dashboards and metrics to drive on-going commodity performance continuous improvement.
  • Lead and address supplier-related corrective, preventive actions, and improvement, addressing true and systemic root cause, and eliminating repeats.
  • Apply quality methodologies, tools, and techniques, such as 8D, SPC, Cp/Cpk, GR&R, Design for Six Sigma, Cost of Poor Quality, Failure Mode Effect Analysis, etc.
Requirements
  • 5 years or more experience working in manufacturing, supplier, or quality engineering functions.
  • Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt certification.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Proficient at RCFA and problem-solving techniques (8D-5Why).
  • Experience leading quality audits on suppliers to assure products and services meet ISO standards.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write technical reports and presentations.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to coordinate the work of peers effectively.
  • Self-starter capable of working with some supervision, with ability to balance workload and priorities and escalate effectively to get management support and guidance.
  • Strong team building, leadership, decisiveness, and communication skills.
  • Ability to fluently read, write, and speak English.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning system, preferably SAP.
  • Certification in LEAN, Six Sigma tools and methodologies, Six Sigma Black Belt, CQE, CQA from ASQ.
  • Supply chain management experience, business performance review, collaborative quality management with suppliers.
  • Project Management or Project Management Professional certification.
