Job Summary

The Manufacturing Systems Engineer will provide expertise in technical operations of Yanfeng in MES organization. Responsible for shop floor systems, manufacturing applications, machine integration. Provides technical support to troubleshoot equipment issues through structured problem-solving processes.

The MES Engineer will implement production line improvement and modifications in configuration of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and PLC programs. The MES Engineer will create reports by writing stored procedures in Microsoft SQL server or by utilizing.net applications. Works with launch and plant team to support MES deployments and needed changes to machine controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure and Troubleshoot IT/MES Applications: Configure, update, and troubleshoot IT/MES Applications and electrical controls for manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and Implement Controls Systems: Develop, modify, or debug programs for controls systems with Allen Bradley and Siemens; PLC, HMI, drives and device peripherals.
  • Provide Training and Support: Provide training to plant team on the operation and diagnostics of MES application and the machine controls.
  • Research and Implement Upgrades: Research and implement cost effective upgrades to the equipment and manufacturing applications.
  • Maintain System Backups: Maintain master backups for all machine programs, database and MES Configurations.
  • Support Manufacturing Metrics: Supports manufacturing metrics (Safety, Engineering Change, OEE, Scrap, Waste)
  • Modify and Create SQL Queries: Modify and create SQL queries and stored procedures to create reports and functions.
  • Specify and Implement MES Solutions: Specify, design, develop, document, test and implement Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions within manufacturing facilities.
  • Drive Standardization: Drive standardization across MES processes and systems throughout company network.
  • Work with Business Management: Work with business management and users to define the needs and design solutions that add value to the company.
  • Perform System Configuration Changes: Perform system configuration changes, monitor systems and correct errors.
  • Interface with Machines and Applications: Interface with various types of machines and applications to collect data to drive processes.
  • Understand Digitization Strategy: Understand company's digitization strategy and apply new technologies and standards to achieve optimal results.
  • Support Web Applications and Solutions: Support web applications and solutions.
  • Support Industry 4.0 Applications: Support Industry 4.0 Machine Learning, AR/VR and IoT applications.
  • Coordinate MES Activities: Coordinate MES activities with internal and external departments for zero downtime.
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Area of Study: Bachelor of Science in Computer, Electrical or Mechatronics

Work Experience

  • Must be able and willing to travel and work at company sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
  • 3+ years of experience with MES such as Nysus, InSequence, Aegis, Pyramid or other MES.
  • Automotive experience, review manufacturing processes requirements for machine, assembly, and automation, including integration of error proofing methods.
  • Programming and troubleshooting of PLCs, drives and robotic systems.
  • Programming experience in.NET and Working knowledge of SQL.
