About the Role

The primary objective of this position is to provide exceptional purchasing support by efficiently identifying high-quality sources, negotiating terms and conditions, and procuring required materials and services. This role is responsible for ensuring Assurance of Supply (AOS) for our North America manufacturing facilities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Issuing purchase orders, scheduling, coordinating, and managing delivery of those orders
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders, including Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and Material Handling personnel
  • Ensuring inventory levels are within guidelines and participating in efforts to optimize inventory levels
  • Driving continuous improvement activities toward a lean process and bringing benefits to the business

Key Responsibilities

This role requires a strong focus on:

  • Promoting business safety standards and maintaining a safe working environment
  • Compliance with applicable regulations, including those related to storage, handling, and transportation of explosives
  • Sourcing, purchasing, and managing goods and services
  • Supplier development, negotiation, and contract management
  • Conducting and documenting supplier performance reviews
  • Procurement projects on strategic or operational levels
  • Purchasing budgets (standard cost)
  • Ensuring continuous supply
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers
  • Risk mitigation/dual sourcing
  • Managing commercial aspects and change management
  • Ensuring supplier quality and delivery OTIF
  • Interface with the entire Procurement, Planning, Manufacturing & Quality teams, Suppliers, and other key stakeholders on a regular basis

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A college degree or diploma in business administration
  • Experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate at a professional level
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze computer-generated business reports
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks
