Position Overview

The Senior Cloud Reliability Engineer within the Data & Analytics division is responsible for spearheading initiatives that guarantee the dependability, scalability, and efficiency of our cloud-based analytics platforms in GCP. This position is vital in crafting and executing resilient, scalable solutions while offering technical guidance to our Cloud/Data Engineering team. We are in search of an experienced Senior Cloud Reliability Engineer with a minimum of 6 years of specialized knowledge in cloud infrastructure and operational management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions in GCP/AWS.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance, capacity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Architect, implement, and manage monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to facilitate proactive issue detection and resolution.
  • Lead incident response initiatives, perform root cause analysis, and execute corrective measures to avert future occurrences.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools to optimize operational workflows and boost efficiency.
  • Enforce security best practices and compliance standards within cloud environments.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and direction to a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure infrastructure alignment with application requirements and deployment processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data migration, system updates, and more.
  • This role necessitates strong technical acumen as well as exceptional problem-solving and communication capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or comparable role, with a strong emphasis on cloud infrastructure and operations.
  • Over 8 years of in-depth expertise in cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • More than 5 years of proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Over 5 years of scripting and programming experience (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Proven experience in mentoring technical teams and leading projects to successful outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with the capacity to analyze complex issues and drive solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Certification in relevant cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, AZURE, or Palantir).
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodology concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other service management frameworks.
