Position Overview

The Senior Cloud Reliability Engineer role within the Data & Analytics division is pivotal in maintaining the dependability, scalability, and efficiency of our cloud-based analytics platforms hosted in GCP. This position involves spearheading the design and execution of resilient, scalable solutions while providing technical direction to our Cloud/Data Engineering team. We are in search of an experienced Senior Cloud Reliability Engineer with a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure and operational management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions in GCP/AWS.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance, capacity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Design, implement, and manage monitoring, logging, and observability frameworks to ensure proactive identification and resolution of issues.
  • Lead incident management initiatives, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective measures to avert future occurrences.
  • Create automation scripts and tools to optimize operational workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Enforce security best practices and compliance standards within cloud environments.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure infrastructure alignment with application needs and deployment processes.
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts to boost the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve challenges related to data migration and system updates.
  • This role necessitates strong technical acumen coupled with exceptional problem-solving and communication abilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or a related field, with a strong emphasis on cloud infrastructure and operations.
  • Over 8 years of deep expertise in cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • More than 5 years of proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Over 5 years of scripting and programming experience (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Proven experience in mentoring technical teams and leading projects to successful outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, with the ability to dissect complex issues and drive solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Certification in relevant cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, or Palantir).
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodology principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other service management frameworks.
