About the Role

Polaris Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Process Optimization Engineer to join our team in optimizing the paint processes through efficiency and improvement of the main operational metrics to meet and exceed the production and operational targets for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and implement the most cost-efficient production methods across the operation.
  • Plan and coordinate activities necessary to produce specified products within safety, quality, and cost standards of the Liquid Paint Process.
  • Design, implement, and optimize new processes on paint systems, with a continuous improvement methodology (Cycle Times and cost improvements).
  • Develop and update process documentation and procedure instructions for paint system activities.
  • Analyze and evaluate manufacturing methods and standards, designing solutions to problems that may adversely affect operator safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Lead cost savings projects and trials of new projects, generating effective process control and methods design and costs of new tooling, and proper reports and action plans to ensure a safe launch with successful results.
  • Review preliminary designs, making recommendations to reduce costs and improve manufacturing and quality on new or existing parts.
  • Review and evaluate costs pertaining to make vs. buy decisions and new product development.
  • Effectively communicate with production and manufacturing areas.
Requirements
  • BS/MS in Engineering or related degree.
  • Flexibility to travel as required to manufacturing locations both domestic and international.
  • Proficiency in PC/software, including Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and be efficient with multiple tasks.
  • English Language skills.
  • Core tools knowledge.
