About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) team at Danfoss GmbH. As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining our public cloud service capabilities, supporting our global digital transformation and empowering our employees to utilize the cloud as a preferred technology accelerator for digital growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentorship and Team Leadership
    • Mentor, plan, and guide the contributions of the team to ensure successful cloud adoption and implementation.
  • Cloud Governance and Consulting
    • Support centralized cloud governance and consulting services to the organization, driving cloud adoption and institutionalizing best practices.
  • Technical Consulting and Support
    • Provide technical consulting support to application architects to ensure alignment with overall design principles and cloud service catalog.
  • Infrastructure as Code and Automation
    • Develop infrastructure as code templates that support an automated deployment of cloud resources, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Cloud Environment Documentation and Runbooks
    • Document cloud environments and supply appropriate runbooks for the Cloud Operations teams, ensuring seamless cloud service delivery.
  • Cloud Service Catalog Maintenance
    • Ensure the maintenance of the cloud service catalog with the latest technology stacks and features, driving innovation and improvement.
  • Risk Management and Performance Optimization
    • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, including performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities, ensuring the cloud environment remains secure and efficient.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Partner with development teams to improve services, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the organization.
  • System Design Consulting and Capacity Planning
    • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning, ensuring the cloud environment meets the needs of the business.
  • Automation and Sustainability
    • Create sustainable systems and services through automation, balancing reliability with feature development speed.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Senior Cloud Engineer, Lead Cloud Engineer, or similar role.
  • High proficiency with Python, PowerShell, Terraform, Kubernetes.
  • Expertise in cloud services and platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure (AWS or GCP experience is also valuable).
  • Proficient first-hand cloud experience – deployment of cloud landing zones and application migrations.
  • Passion for building useful cloud tools for the organization.
  • Familiar with working in an agile environment. An agile mindset and proficiency in agile ways of working.
  • Proficient knowledge of network, security, and automation tools.
  • Proficient knowledge of cloud adoption best practices.
  • Workload architecture and sizing experience including big data, analytics, ML/AI, etc.
  • Technical documentation expertise.
  • Familiar with ITIL framework.
  • Servant-leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset and team spirit.
  • A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Experienced in working within a global team and organization.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.
