Job Summary
Isatis Business Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Commodity Manager to join our Air-Cooled Applications team. This role is critical to developing and maintaining supplier and customer partnerships, driving the future of cooling solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing:
- Develop and maintain in-depth market knowledge for assigned commodities, including industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, lead times, and supplier capabilities.
- Lead supplier discovery, evaluation, selection, and sourcing initiatives.
- Facilitate Request For Information (RFI) and Request For Quote (RFQ) processes for new product programs and sourcing initiatives.
- Develop and implement global sourcing strategies to meet strategic objectives, program timing, cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Cost Savings:
- Develop and implement supply base management strategies to achieve lowest total cost in terms of quality, lead time, delivery, service, and unit cost.
- Facilitate Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) activities and use data analytics to drive product cost savings and process improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Product Managers and Procurement Analytics to perform ongoing price/rate benchmarking and analytical modeling to ensure market competitiveness.
- Identify cost savings opportunities using business analytics logic and skills.
- Supply Continuity Assurance:
- Support new product launch initiatives.
- Work with the supplier fulfillment team to address supplier escalations as needed.
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineering, Product Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering to assess the quality capabilities of new and existing suppliers.
- Identify critical supply disruption points in the upstream value chain and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Commercial Precision:
- Manage the supplier onboarding process.
- Negotiate, implement, and manage purchasing agreements, including pricing, terms, and conditions, and expected supplier performance.
- Ensure ERP system accuracy in terms of part price and purchasing documents.
Requirements:
- Effective communication with all levels of the organization.
- Travel required, approximately 25% of the time, to meet with suppliers and Modine facilities.
