Our Health & Biosciences (H&B) division is a pioneer in industrial biotechnology, developing innovative enzymes and bioproducts to improve performance and reduce environmental impact.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic individual with a strong knowledge and experience in enzymes for the baking and milling industry to join our team as an Application Scientist, Bakery Enzymes. The successful candidate will support the continuous growth of our Health & Biosciences business in Mexico, Central America, Colombia, and Ecuador.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers for bakery enzyme products in collaboration with colleagues from our global organization.
  • Develop and maintain solid technical knowledge of our bakery enzyme product portfolio to build customer confidence and rapport.
  • Conduct on-site technical and operational support for customers, including millers and industrial bakeries.
  • Collaborate with the sales team, regional industry leader, and colleagues in the bakery application team to provide technical support and customer-facing activities.
  • Plan, design, and execute systematic pilot plant experiments to optimize product performance.
  • Document and present data to customers and internal colleagues.
  • Explore and evaluate new business opportunities and identify key success factors to win business.
  • Participate in customer development projects and internal development projects.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of enzyme products throughout the commercialization process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in bakery or food science, or equivalent experience in the baking and milling industry.
  • 6-8 years of experience in product development or a related function within a food ingredients supplier, the milling- or baking industry.
  • Experience or competencies in the use of bakery enzymes is a significant advantage.
  • Customer-focused, open-minded, and able to thrive in a dynamic and complex matrix organization.
  • Ability to engage collaboratively with customer stakeholders, identify new business opportunities, and articulate value propositions.
  • Results-oriented individual who takes initiative while prioritizing and managing multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with good reporting and record-keeping skills.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • 30-40% travel activity required.
