Job Description

This position is responsible for executing and optimizing cloud infrastructure tasks, including provisioning, scaling, and automating cloud services. You will provide feedback to improve infrastructure processes and automation.

You will lead CI/CD pipeline management, ensuring build, deployment, and testing processes are efficient, reliable, and scalable. You will also implement and manage configuration changes using advanced automation tools.

You will resolve medium-complexity issues related to cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and automation tools. You will coordinate with senior team members to resolve larger scope issues.

You will represent the DevOps team in communications with clients and internal stakeholders. You will provide regular updates on project progress and operational performance.

You will coach and train newer DevOps engineers on job-specific tasks, tools, and processes. You will serve as a mentor by providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting techniques.

You will lead small team initiatives to improve operational efficiency, such as refining automation scripts, enhancing deployment pipelines, or improving monitoring tools. You will propose and implement process improvements for both technical and procedural workflows.

You will monitor and maintain cloud resources, responding to alerts and proactively addressing potential issues.

Requirements

You must have 2-4 years' experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a related IT field. You must have proven documentation, presentation, and communication skills.

You must hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Alternatively, you may hold a University Degree with 2-4 years of experience in the domain.

A Master's degree and 0-2 years' experience in the domain is also acceptable.

Skills and Qualifications

You must have advanced DevOps skills, proficiency with tools like Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. You must have cloud management expertise, strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure design and automation.

You must have basic leadership and project management skills, ability to manage small projects, lead initiatives, and mentor junior team members. You must be capable of professionally handling complex client interactions and providing technical guidance.

You must have big picture thinking, able to align team efforts with organizational goals and drive continuous improvements. You must have root cause analysis & process improvement skills, strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues and streamline processes.

You must be able to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team.

Software Knowledge

You must be proficient in DevOps tools: Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipeline tools. You must have advanced cloud platform knowledge: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (including services like EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda).

You must have expertise in automation tools: AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, or similar for infrastructure management. You must be proficient in scripting languages: Python, Shell, or other scripting languages for task automation.

You must be familiar with monitoring tools: CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar. You must be proficient in documentation tools: Jira, Confluence, and MS Office. You must have working knowledge of project management tools: Jira, or similar platforms.

Preferred Experience

You may have expertise in DevOps practices: Advanced experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, cloud infrastructure, and configuration management.

You may have experience in customer-facing roles: Capable of addressing technical issues and providing solutions in a professional manner.

You may have experience in process improvement: Proven ability to identify inefficiencies and implement enhancements in DevOps workflows.

You may have experience in the green energy or utilities domain.

You may have experience with a U.S. based company.

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Certification or a related certification is a plus.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

You may have advanced DevOps skills: Proficiency in cloud infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD pipelines. You may have root cause analysis and problem-solving skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues effectively.

You may have strong communication skills: Capable of translating complex technical information into clear, understandable terms for both technical and non-technical audiences.

You may have process improvement: Proven experience in identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions to optimize processes.

You may have coaching and leadership skills: Basic ability to mentor and guide DevOps Engineers and lead small initiatives within the team.
