About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our team at Marsh McLennan. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our IT systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and support for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our IT systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technical requirements and implement solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including knowledge base articles, infrastructure diagrams, and FAQs.
  • Perform routine housekeeping and health monitoring of our IT systems.
  • Support and resolve issues related to application recycles, disk space, process hung, port conflicts, logs archiving, SSL certificates, and more.
  • Work on putting together and submitting infrastructure-related requests, such as DNS registration, SSL certs, and more.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure seamless integration of new applications and services.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve service efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in System Engineering, providing project and system support across a portfolio of business applications and systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows fundamentals and administration.
  • Strong knowledge of WebLogic, Oracle Fusion, Apache, Nginx webserver, JavaScript, and Windows Server/IIS administration.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing technologies and environments, as well as experience with container systems (Docker) and container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes).
  • A good awareness of Microsoft.NET technology.
  • Strong professional experience automating AWS configuration, build, and deployments using Ansible, CloudFormation, or other equivalents.
  • Sound knowledge of F5 Load Balancer, Firewalls, DNS, and more.
  • Certification in AWS is a plus.
