Job Responsibilities- Process Improvement: Develop, measure, analyze, and improve existing or new manufacturing processes using automation and controls engineering techniques, including PLCs, database management, and other relevant tools.
- Equipment Design: Design automated manufacturing and testing equipment for new product development, capacity growth, and efficiency improvements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- System Architecture: Design and layout controls and pneumatic system architecture, electrical panels, and other critical systems to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Assembly and Qualification: Assist in the assembly and qualification of automated manufacturing equipment, including mechanical and pneumatic assembly, electrical wiring, and cable management.
- Project Team Participation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing engineering, product planning, procurement, quality, operations, industrial engineers, maintenance, and suppliers, to drive project success.
- Troubleshooting and Resolution: Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve current process issues related to tooling, materials, manufacturing processes, and automation, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal productivity.
- Process Capability and Efficiency: Continuously improve process capability (Cpk) and process efficiency or OEE of assigned processes, supporting quality, cost, delivery, and safety objectives.
- Lean Production Principles: Implement lean production principles to create or improve material flow, reducing waste and increasing efficiency.
- Improvement Activities: Utilize lean, six sigma, DOE, and other relevant principles during improvement activities to drive sustainable results.
- Process Documentation: Develop, maintain, and standardize process documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance.
- Technology Opportunities: Continuously seek new technology opportunities to drive innovation and improvement.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field (Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 3+ years' experience as an automation engineer, with a strong background in implementing industrial automation-based projects.
- Skills: Basic experience in creating electrical designs, schematics, and drawings in 2D, as well as developing electrical and pneumatic bills of materials.
- Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multifunctional teams.
- Language: English language proficiency (75% or higher).
- Software Skills: Proficiency in Rockwell Automation Software, including RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Machine Edition, and other relevant tools.
- PLC Programming: Experience with PLC programming, preferably with Allen Bradley.
- Robotics and Simulation: Experience with industrial robotic and cobot programming, as well as robotic simulation using Fanuc Robot Guide.
- MES Systems: Familiarity with MES systems, preferably with Ignition.
- LabView Programming: Knowledge of LabView programming or other relevant programming languages.
- Mechanical Design: Experience with mechanical design and engineering.
- Quality and Compliance: Working knowledge of PPAP, statistical process control, and ISO9001/14001.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 20% for business purposes.
